Surf  

At Atlantis Surf Project we bring together all the elements to provide each student with   the ideal conditions to develop their surfing ability. Our location provides easy access to the best surfing beaches in the Lisbon and Cascais  area.  Our  instructors are all recognized and registered with the Portuguese Surfing Federation,  and have years of extensive experience in surf coaching. 

It  has been well established that the learning curve in surfing is increased with the implementation and practice of video correction. This is the process by which the student views  video footage of himself surfing, and is highly effective in correcting mistakes that would otherwise pass undetected. 


By doing the video correction daily at the camp, the student has a greater understanding of the different factors involved in his learning and progress, and has greater involvement in the process as well.  Keeping the class group to six students  allows for greater attention to each individual students evolution.

Our surfing equipment also ensures maximum safety in the water. Further, the class will be given a full brief   on how to read the conditions in the water, and general safety rules for when surfing . A small class group also helps to ensure that the coach can pay maximum attention to each students safety . Whether you are a beginner or have some surfing experience, we offer you the highest  in surf coaching excellence and quality.

  Yoga

Yoga is a powerful  and ancient method of human development. It works on our physical and mental  body , as well as on our energy and emotions.

The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit and means “to connect”.  Our lessons are designed to work with your surfing activity and are orientated by a qualified instructor from the Cascais Yoga Centre , a branch of the renowned Yoga Lusa Association, founded by  the revered Yoga Master Jorge Veiga e Castro.

The lessons are  held daily in the surfcamp, alternating between mornings and evenings. Three times a week an extra session will be held in the beach right after your surfing lesson. This session will be aimed at stretching and rejuvenating.  The benefits that a yoga practice has on your surfing are numerous. They include great joint flexibility, muscle elasticity, endurance, balance and suppleness, increased energy level, the expansion of breathing capacity, (very important in a whipeout!). 

Yoga also offers you increased concentration capacity which leads to greater mental clarity and being able to make  fast decisions in critical moments, this helps you in  selecting  just the right moment to catch that perfect wave. Yoga also leaves you staying loose and relaxed, which is essential for enjoying a  great surf.

 
Food  
As part of the surf and yoga program you may choose to opt for our nutrition plan, which is carefully formulated to ensure you get maximum health, nutrition, vitality and energy from what you eat.

This comprises of a fully vegetarian and organic based diet, and is at no extra cost.

Your diet has a direct influence on how you feel.  In order to be in harmony with the energy of nature, it is essential that you don’t fill your organism with toxins and chemicals, including artificial and hard to digest foods. Having a healthy organism will make you feel more sensitive and in tune with your environment, and your inner self. We are adamant about the ecology of the planet, and we fight to keep it unpolluted, likewise we should feel the same about our own organism. 

We place a strong emphasis on anti - oxidant rich nutrients and raw foods  to rejuvenate and energize your system. At Atlantis Surf Project we ensure you  experience a gastronomical feast of healthy and natural foods .
